Air fryer Eggs

Air frying eggs is a surprisingly simple and effective method for cooking eggs to perfection, whether you’re aiming for hard-boiled, soft-boiled, or even scrambled. Using an air fryer to cook eggs not only reduces the mess and the fuss but also provides a consistent and reliable result each time. Here’s how to make eggs in an air fryer, including hard-boiled, soft-boiled, and scrambled versions.

Air Fryer Hard-Boiled Eggs

  • Large eggs (as many as you wish to cook, ensuring they don’t touch each other in the air fryer basket)

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 270°F (132°C). This temperature helps cook the eggs evenly without overcooking.
  2. Place Eggs in Air Fryer: Gently place the eggs in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching.
  3. Cooking Time: Cook for about 15-17 minutes. For softer yolks, aim for 15 minutes. For firmer yolks, cook for 17 minutes.
  4. Cool Down: Once cooked, immediately transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water. Let them chill for about 5 minutes. This stops the cooking process and makes peeling easier.
  5. Peel and Serve: Peel the eggs and serve them as you like.

Air Fryer Soft-Boiled Eggs

  • Large eggs (as many as you plan to cook, without overcrowding)

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat to 270°F (132°C).
  2. Cooking: Place the eggs in the air fryer basket and cook for about 9-11 minutes. The timing depends on how runny you prefer your yolk.
  3. Ice Bath: Immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath for at least 5 minutes.
  4. Peel and Enjoy: Carefully peel the eggs to enjoy a soft and runny yolk.

Air Fryer Scrambled Eggs

  • Eggs (2-4, depending on serving size)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter or oil (1 teaspoon)
  • Optional: milk or cream (1 tablespoon for every 2 eggs), cheese, or other mix-ins

  1. Preparation: In a bowl, beat the eggs with salt, pepper, and milk (if using) until well combined. Stir in cheese or other desired mix-ins.
  2. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set it to 300°F (149°C).
  3. Prepare the Pan: If you have an air fryer-safe pan that fits inside the basket, use it. Otherwise, create a makeshift pan using aluminum foil, shaping it to fit inside the basket. Grease the pan with butter or oil.
  4. Cook: Pour the egg mixture into the pan. Place the pan in the air fryer basket. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the eggs are set and fluffy.
  5. Serve: Carefully remove the pan from the air fryer. Serve the scrambled eggs hot, with toast or your favorite breakfast sides.

These air fryer egg recipes provide a straightforward, mess-free method for enjoying eggs in various styles. Adjust cooking times slightly based on the specific model and capacity of your air fryer, as temperatures and cooking times can vary.
